Why
It may not be readily apparent why I’m jotting all this down, so here’s a quick summary: between now and September I’ll be working as Burning Man’s Environmental Manager, attempting to square the circle of a sustainable temporary city.
I suspect what I learn along the way will be of some value to those interested in similar topics. It’s my hope that I can take advantage of the platform of the event to leverage widespread interest in emerging technologies and potential solutions to the environmental crisis we’re all facing.
After all, environmental issues are boring. Put them in the desert, with chicks in hot pants and flamethrowers, however, and we’re getting somewhere.
A bit about me. I was an environmental activist, and a journalist, and I spent some time bulldozing debris after hurricane katrina.
